Textured acrylic parging is a flexible, durable, and decorative polymer-based coating that provides superior moisture protection and crack resistance for foundations and walls, offering a customizable, modern finish unlike traditional cement parging, but can lock in moisture if not breathable, so proper application and material choice are key for long-term performance, especially in freeze-thaw climates. It's applied in layers, often over a prepared surface (like sanded concrete) or existing parging, and can be troweled, sprayed, or textured with tools to create various patterns like rough, smooth, or decorative finishes for enhanced curb appeal and weatherproofing.

Application Process

  2. Priming: A bonding primer is often applied to seal the surface and ensure even adhesion.

  3. Base Coat: For uneven surfaces or ICF, a base coat with embedded fiberglass mesh is typically used for structural reinforcement.

  4. Finish Coat: The textured acrylic finish is applied using a stainless steel trowel and then "floated" with a plastic or wood tool to achieve the desired pattern.
